Overview & Core Concepts
What is Campaign Execution 2.0 (CE2.0)?
CE2.0 is the new infrastructure that enables Optimove to evaluate and prioritize all eligible campaigns for a customer throughout the day. This allows campaigns to be executed faster, more flexibly, and based on priority rather than a single daily batch.
Is CE2.0 the same as “Near Real-Time Targeting”?
Yes. “Near Real-Time Targeting” was the previous name for what is now referred to as Campaign Execution 2.0.
Transition Process
What pre-work must we do to transition to CE2.0?
No special preparation is required, just pay attention to your Run anyway campaigns, as they will now follow the priority logic.
How long does the CE2.0 rollout take?
The migration is immediate. It happens after the last campaign and before the next batch begins. All campaigns from the following day will run on the new infrastructure.
Prioritization & Campaign Behavior
How does prioritization work throughout the day?
Optimove evaluates and prioritizes all eligible campaigns for a customer throughout the day. If a customer becomes eligible for a higher-priority campaign, they will receive it instead of a lower-priority one.
Do changes impact auto-priority campaigns?
Yes. Auto-priority will also be recalculated throughout the day.
Can same-day campaigns impact prioritization?
Yes. Same-day campaigns are prioritized alongside pre-scheduled campaigns based on available data. However, if other campaigns have already entered Processing or Running status, customers assigned to those will not receive the newly created campaign. You can use “Include All” to ensure all eligible customers are targeted regardless of priority.
How does CE2.0 handle Run Anyway campaigns?
Campaigns marked as Run Anyway will still execute on time. However, prioritization will now be considered across all campaigns for the same occurrence date.
How long before execution does a campaign lock from edits?
Campaigns lock when they enter Processing status, usually around 15 minutes before execution.
Can I edit or delete campaigns in Processing?
Editing and deletion are unavailable.
Can I edit or delete campaigns in Running?
You can edit or delete future occurrences, but not today’s occurrence since it has already been sent.
How does CE2.0 impact Triggered campaigns?
Triggered campaigns are not affected. Target Groups are still updated once a day for triggered campaigns.
Support & Rollback
What support is available during the transition?
The system is closely monitored throughout the transition. You can raise any issues via support ticket, and our R&D team treats them with top urgency.
Performance & Timing
Has batch runtime improved after CE2.0?
Yes. While the batch process itself is unchanged, campaign execution data is removed from it, shortening the overall time.
Data Flow & Integration
Does CE2.0 change the analysis stage?
No. The analysis stage remains unchanged.
Does CE2.0 change API behavior?
Most API behavior remains unchanged. However, event notifications (Types 1, 5, 13) will now be triggered closer to the actual campaign send time, not during the batch.
Feature Access & Requirements
Is CE2.0 required for new features?
Yes. To access features like Send Time Optimization (STO) and Channel Eligibility, CE2.0 is required. Triggered campaigns are not affected.
