Optimove's Subject Line Generator, powered by OpenAI, helps marketers effortlessly craft compelling email subject lines within OptiMail. This AI-powered tool speeds up campaign execution and sparks creative inspiration. Using the Visual Editor in OptiMail, marketers can generate multiple subject lines from simple text prompts, saving time while enhancing creativity.

Getting Started

Navigation

Access this feature by navigating to Optimove > Plan > Templates > OptiMail.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open the Optimove Email Template Visual Editor.
    • Navigate to the template builder and click Create New at the top-right of the page.
    • Select New Template and choose Visual Editor in the editor selection overlay.

  2. Go to Email Details.
    • On the right-hand side, click the top-most icon to open the Email Details panel.
    • This panel allows you to modify key elements such as the subject line and preview text. 
    • Click the orange OptiGenie icon in the Subject field to open the Subject Line Generator overlay.

  3. Generate subject lines using AI.
    • Enter a short text prompt describing the message you want to convey.
    • Click Generate to receive four AI-generated subject line suggestions.

  4. Refine and insert your preferred subject line.
    • Refine specific suggestions or regenerate all four options if preferred.
    • Click the OptiGenie icon on the right-hand side to modify a single suggestion.
    • Once satisfied, select your preferred subject line and click Insert to populate it into the OptiMail template builder.

  1. Speeding up ideation: Writing subject lines can feel like a high-pressure guessing game. This tool helps marketers generate quality ideas faster, reducing the time spent brainstorming.
  2. Workshopping variations: Sometimes, marketers struggle to create multiple versions of a concept. The Subject Line Generator provides diverse variations to test and optimize performance. 

Best Practices 

To maximize the effectiveness of the Subject Line Generator:

  • Craft Descriptive Prompts: Use at least six words for optimal results.
  • Iterate Often: Regular usage will help you better understand and refine the feature's capabilities.

Example Prompts

Creating new subject lines:

  • "Write a subject line highlighting our Labor Day sale with 10% off site-wide."
  • "Make a concise subject line encouraging former subscribers to re-engage with our brand."

Editing existing subject lines:

  • "Make this subject line more upbeat and conversational: [insert subject line]."
  • "Give me examples of subject lines that encourage first-time visitors to sign up for membership."

Feature Limitations

Subject lines are not saved automatically. The generated options are not stored once you close the overlay.
