Beta: This feature is currently in Beta and is being rolled out incrementally to all customers.
Follow the steps below to create a Snowflake Data Listing and retrieve the Listing Identifier required for setting up your data ingestion process. Snowflake’s built-in data sharing capability serves as the underlying mechanism for this connection.
Before you begin
Please note that the requirements for using the Data Ingestion feature are the same as those applied when selecting Snowflake as the data source for sending batch data. Any existing Snowflake setup already aligns with what is needed here.
Also note that a user with the ACCOUNTADMIN role in Snowflake must perform this setup, as only account administrators have the required permissions to complete the configuration.
First, you need to configure the steps on Snowflake and then you can continue with the self-serve capabilities on Data Ingestion inside the Optimove UI.
Step 1: Access the Provider Studio
Navigate to Data Sharing > Provider Studio in the Snowflake UI.
Step 2: Create a New Listing
2.1 Click Listings, select Create New Listing, and choose Specified Consumers as the sharing option.
2.2 Choose a Role with the required permissions to share the selected data.
2.3 Enter a Listing Name. And optionally add a Description and any necessary Legal Terms.
Step 3: Add a Data Product
3.1. In the listing creation page, select Add Data Product and choose the specific table or view you want to share. Select the relevant database and schema, then pick the required tables or views. Only tables or views are supported.
3.2. You may rename the data product or keep the default name, then save your selection.
3.3. Select Free as the required access type.
Step 4: Add Optimove as a Consumer
Add the appropriate Optimove Snowflake account identifier based on your region:
- US Region: XO73096.MOBIUS
- EU Region: XO73096.MOBIUS_EU
Important note: If you are unsure which region your Optimove environment belongs to, please contact your CSM.
Then press publish.
Step 5: Retrieve the Listing URL and Identifier
5.1 After publishing, open the listing and click the menu icon in the top-right corner.
5.2 Select Copy Listing URL.
- You will receive a URL similar to:
https://app.snowflake.com/marketplace/listing/GZU6Z7023AC
The value following /listing/ (e.g., GZU6Z7023AC) is your Listing Identifier.
You will need this identifier to complete the ingestion setup in Optimove.
6. Data Ingestion in the Optimove UI
6.1 Go to Data Studio > Data Ingestion in the Optimove UI and select Ingest Data in the top corner.
6.2 Click Snowflake as the database, enter the credential details you got, and start the data ingestion process.
For more information about the Data Ingestion Process in Optimove, please go to the Data Ingestion article.
6.3 Provide an “Updated At” column (Snowflake) – if you map an Updated At column, Optimove enables Incremental Updates and you can choose the sync frequency (6h / 12h / 24h). If you don’t map it, the only available option is Full Update (24h).
Additional Note: Customer360 Attribute Visibility
After your Snowflake listing is connected and data begins flowing into Optimove, attribute updates may take a few minutes to appear within the Customer360 Snapshots area. This is expected behavior while the system processes and refreshes the new data.
If attributes do not appear after several minutes, try resetting your cache or logging out and back into Optimove. This small refresh step ensures you always see the most up to date snapshot view.
