Ask Optimove anything, in plain English.
Optimove MCP connects your AI assistant directly to your Optimove tenant — so you can query campaigns, promotions, journeys, and platform health using natural language, from the tools you already use.
Optimove MCP is a hosted, secure connector that links your AI assistant to your live Optimove data. Once connected, you can ask questions about your campaigns, promotions, triggers, journeys, segments, and platform health — and get answers in plain language, without leaving your assistant.
The connector mostly reads and inspects your tenant. It can create drafts for you to review, but it can never activate, schedule, send, or delete anything in production. You stay in control.
Works with the clients you already use
- Claude.ai (web) and Claude Desktop
- ChatGPT (Developer Mode connectors)
- Codex
- Claude code (Terminal)
- Cursor
- VS Code
- Kiro
- GitHub Copilot CLI (by Microsoft)
Start by asking the connector to show you things. Each of these is a first-class surface you can query directly — no reports to build, no exports to wait for, just ask. (Want it to build something too? That's the next section.)
Inspect any campaign — past, scheduled, or running. See status, schedule, target group, attached promotions, channels, and success/failure breakdowns.
Look up any discount, voucher, free-gift, or custom promotion and view its rules, value, validity window, attached campaigns, and redemption performance.
Inspect real-time and event triggers and the campaigns they fire — handy for tracing why a specific customer received a specific message.
Walk through multi-step customer journeys: each stage, the condition between stages, and the campaign at each node.
See the segments and Target Groups on your tenant — including size, definition, and last refresh time.
Pull live platform-health signals: which services are up, which jobs are running, recent errors, and where today's pipeline stands.
Search Optimove product documentation in-line, so your assistant can answer "how do I…" questions with citations from the official docs.
Ask about email templates on your tenant, and look up images from your BeeFree image library. The assistant can find the right asset by name or description and pull it into a template. Available to MCP beta users; email only.
Describe what you want in plain English, and the connector builds it for you inside Optimove.
No builder screens, no manual setup. You describe what you need, the assistant assembles it using the official Optimove APIs, and it appears in your Optimove account ready to use. The building blocks below are created and ready to drop into a campaign; the campaign itself is always created as a draft for you to review and activate.
Building blocks it creates for you
These are the ingredients of a campaign. The connector creates them in your tenant so you can select them in the campaign builder — on their own they don't message anyone or go into effect until you attach them to a campaign and activate it.
"Create a target group of customers who deposited in the last 14 days but haven't opened an email." Saved to your tenant, ready to select.
"Create a trigger for a customer's first deposit." Becomes available to pick in the campaign builder's trigger dropdown.
"Create a calculated attribute for average deposit over the last 30 days." Ready to use in segmentation and personalisation.
"Create an action for a 10% bonus credit." Saved as a reusable action you can attach to a campaign.
"Create a free-spins promotion valid for 7 days." Created and ready to attach to a campaign.
"Create an email template for a weekend free-spins offer." The assistant writes the template in HTML and saves it to your tenant, ready to open in the HTML editor. New templates default to Liquid personalization.
Create an email template — saved to your platform
Describe the email you want in plain English and the AI Template Creation Agent builds it as an HTML template and saves it straight to your Optimove tenant. You can create a new template from scratch (new templates default to Liquid personalization), duplicate an existing template and transform it for a new campaign (the origin template determines whether it uses Legacy or Liquid personalization), or refine copy, subject line, and CTA over a multi-turn chat. When you're ready, open the deeplink from the chat to jump into the Optimove HTML editor and keep editing.
Template creation through external AI clients is a beta capability for users connected to Optimove via MCP — it isn't a broad public release yet. Wider availability is targeted for a future Optimove AI release later in 2026. Full AI image generation, the BeeFree Visual Editor, and richer previews are available inside Optimove Content Studio.
Through external clients the agent looks up images from your existing BeeFree asset library and inserts them — it can't generate brand-new AI images, and it can't render image previews in chat (it refers to images by filename or description and inserts the right one). Output is HTML only (the BeeFree Visual Editor isn't supported through MCP yet) and email only (SMS and push aren't supported through this path yet). If your assistant renders an HTML preview, BeeFree image links may appear broken in that preview — they resolve normally once the template is opened in Optimove.
The campaign — always a draft you approve
"Create an email campaign using the BONUS10 promotion for my high-value segment." You get a fully assembled draft campaign — channel, content, audience, and promotion wired together — sitting in Optimove exactly like one you'd build by hand. Nothing sends until you review it and hit activate.
Drafting multi-step Streams ("a 3-step welcome journey for new sign-ups") is on the way. It isn't live yet — for now, build Streams in Optimove as usual.
The building blocks above are created in your tenant, but none of them messages anyone or goes live on its own — they only do something once they're part of a campaign. And the campaign itself is always a draft you review and activate. The connector never sends, schedules, or deletes anything on your behalf. You stay in control of what actually goes out.
You'll need an active Optimove tenant, your usual Optimove credentials (with the roles for the data you want to reach), and an MCP-compatible AI client. There's nothing to install — the connector is hosted at https://mcp.optimove.net/mcp.

Sign-in opens but doesn't complete
Confirm your AI client is up to date. If you're using ChatGPT, confirm Developer mode is enabled. On a corporate network, confirm your firewall allows outbound HTTPS to mcp.optimove.net.
"Tool requires approval" on every call
Read-only tools should run without per-call approval. If they prompt every time, your client may be in strict approval mode — check the client's tool-approval settings.
Connector shows as disconnected
Tokens expire if not used. Re-open Settings → Connectors and click Reconnect. If reconnect fails, confirm your Optimove account is still active and your role hasn't changed.
Empty or partial responses
The connector inherits your Optimove user role. If you can't see an entity in the Optimove UI, you won't see it through the connector. Ask your Optimove admin to confirm your role assignment.
Template images look broken in the chat preview
This is expected in the MCP beta. External clients can't render BeeFree images inline, so any HTML preview shown in chat may display image links as broken. The links resolve normally once you open the template in the Optimove HTML editor via the deeplink. The agent also can't generate new AI images through MCP — it looks up and inserts images from your existing BeeFree library instead.
Optimove customers can reach support through the standard channels. To report a problem with the connector, open a ticket through the support portal.
