Configuring Your Sinch-Optimove Integration
To configure your Sinch integration with Optimove correctly, you must apply changes both in the Optimove UI and in your Sinch UI.
Please contact your Customer Success Manager if you have any questions about the following steps.
In the Optimove UI
First, navigate to the Settings area within Optimove, and click on SMS Config, under OptiText.
Here, you can access the configuration details by clicking on the cog icon.
When you open the SMS configuration, you will see 3 fields that you need to complete on the left side and the Current Configuration panel on the right side.
Please note:
The Current Configuration panel will only include relevant details if you have previously set up your SMS implementation.
Service Plan ID
This can be found in the Sinch UI by navigating to Communication APIs -> SMS –> Service APIs.
From there, you will see a REST Configuration that includes the Service Plan ID. You can also access it by navigating to https://dashboard.sinch.com/sms/api/services.
API Token
This can be found in the Sinch UI by navigating to Communication APIs -> SMS –> Service APIs.
From there, you will see a REST Configuration, which includes the API Token. You can also get there by navigating to https://dashboard.sinch.com/sms/api/services.
If you click on the Service Plan ID you will be taken to a screen that displays a list of REST API Detail,s including your API Token.
Virtual Number
This can be found in the Sinch UI by navigating to Communication APIs -> SMS –> Service APIs.
From there, you will see a REST Configuration that includes the Service Plan ID. You can also access it by navigating to https://dashboard.sinch.com/sms/api/services.
If you click on the Service Plan ID you will be taken to a screen which displays a list of REST API Details including your Virtual Numbers at the bottom of the screen.
If you don’t see any numbers listed there, then you may need to purchase one.
In the Sinch UI
Once you have added the above details to the Optimove UI, you must take the Callback URL from the Optitext configuration screen (which can be easily copied using the Copy button next to the URL) and input this into the Sinch UI.
The input field can be found in the Sinch UI by navigating to Communication APIs -> SMS -> Service APIs. From there, you will see a REST Configuration, which includes the Service Plan ID. You can also get there by navigating to https://dashboard.sinch.com/sms/api/services.
If you click on the Service Plan ID you will be taken to a screen that displays a list of Rest API Details. From her,e find the section titled ‘Callback URL’.
Hit the Add Callback URL button, and paste the URL from Optimove into the Default URL field, then save.
Sending to Multiple Regions
There may be cases where you want to send OptiText campaigns from different numbers, depending on your target region. For example, you should have separate numbers for individually targeting the US, UK, and Brazil markets. The following section outlines configuring your Optimove Sinch integration to support sending to multiple regions.
First, please contact your Sinch Account Manager and ask that the Default Originator be set on your account. You can find more information from Sinch regarding Default Originator here.
You can include the Virtual Number as part of your Sinch configuration when sending to a single region. The Virtual Number must be from the region you intend to send it to.
To implement using different From Numbers for different regions and, in doing so, improve deliverability rates in the specific regions you are targeting, you first need to ensure this is configured with Sinch. If you still need to, reach out to your Sinch account manager to ensure that you have the relevant numbers purchased and configured, and request that the Default Originator is configured on your account before returning to the Optitext configuration. You can find more information regarding Default Originator here.
Once you have all the numbers you need registered to your account and your Account Manager has configured Default Originator, you’re ready to update your Optitext Sinch configuration. All that is needed is to leave the Virtual Number field empty, and you’re all set.
