The Monthly Active Users Report helps you understand your OptiMobile usage stats across all of your brands, including Monthly Active Users and sent messages across App Push and In-App Messages.
Report Overview
The report is located under the OptiMobile Section within the Settings area.
It's important to note that MAU is calculated in two ways in this report:
- Current MAU in the Past 30 Days: This figure at the top of the report is a rolling metric, updated daily to show unique users who have opened the app in the preceding 30 days.
- Monthly Active Users (in the table): For any completed calendar month, this shows the total number of unique users who opened the app at least once during that specific month (e.g., from January 1st to January 31st). The MAU displayed for completed months is the MAU on the last day of that month.
The Usage Trends section of the report will always load the past 7 full months of data, and displays the trend of your MAU on the left axis, and your Total messages sent (across App Push and In-App Messages) on the right axis.
Monthly Active Users Table
Further down in the report, you’ll see the Monthly Active Users table. You can use the date picker in the upper left to select a range of months to view.
In the table, the data is presented in rows and displays the aggregate sent message data across Push Notifications and In App Messages, along with a total. The Monthly Active Users (MAU) will display the MAU in the given calendar month across all brands.
With the accordion icon on the right of each row, you’re able to view all the relevant data on the brand level, so you can understand the usage across your different Mobile platforms.
Lastly, you are able to export the data to a .csv file by using the Export button next to the date picker.

Q: What metrics are presented in the Monthly Active Users Report?
The report presents the Monthly Active Users in the Past 30 Days. In the table, it presents the Monthly Active Users, App Push Sent, In App Sent, and Messages Total in aggregate and by OptiMobile brand. The MAU for a month that is not yet completed is the prior day’s MAU.

At this time this report is not customizable.
Q: How often does the Monthly Active Users Report update?
The report is updated every day as part of the batch data process.
Q: How far back does the report’s data go?
The report shows data going back as far as you began using OptiMobile with Optimove. By default on report load, the prior 7 months will show in the table. You can utilize the date selected to change or increase the amount of data shown in the table. The table view will be included in the export if you utilize this functionality.
