Choose your Channel (in case you use more than just OptiMail), Brand (in case you build templates for multiple brands), and template type.
The available template types are:
- Scheduled Campaigns – templates for pre-scheduled campaigns that target either customer or visitor target groups.
- Triggered Customer Campaigns – templates for activity-triggered campaigns that target customer target groups (Only for Track and Trigger users).
- Triggered Visitor Campaigns – templates for activity-triggered campaigns that target visitor target groups (Only for Track and Trigger users).
- Transactional – templates for transactional emails.
How to Manage OptiMail Templates
All the benefits of working with OptiMail, with an easy interface for managing your templates.
- Brand ID is in the top left, so that you can clearly identify which brand you’re working on .
- Folders are divided by Scheduled, Triggered, and Transactional to make it easier to know where your folders and templates are stored.
- To more easily track your templates, you’ll be able to see a snapshot preview of all the templates that are inside the folder you currently have open.

Drag and drop both templates and folders into different folder locations, making it even easier to manage templates at scale. Simply hover over the item you wish to move, then drag using the drag indicator (highlighted in the image below) and drop it into your desired location.
- Open templates in a new tab by right-clicking on the template name, and selecting Open Link in New Tab to start working on your template.
- Sort your templates in the lobby either alphabetically (A-Z, Z-A) or by date modified (New-Old, Old-New).
- Duplicate templates quickly and easily directly from the template lobby, simply by clicking on the duplicate icon on the template preview card.
- In the preview area, you’ll be able to see a thumbnail preview of each template, the template name, the subject line, and more. You’ll also be able to copy, move, duplicate, delete, and edit all of your templates from here.
- Lastly, when you open a template, it will automatically go fullscreen.
Easy access to the brands you’re working on
For multi-brand organizations, it’s paramount that it’s clear which brand you’re working on at any given time. That’s why this detail is in prime position, directly above the search bar. Here, simply select the brand you want to work on from the dropdown and get going instantly.
A birds-eye view of all your folders, all in one place
With highly segmented, personalized campaigns, you can end up with a lot of different templates to work through. That’s why we’ve got simple folder management, divided by Scheduled, Triggered, and Transactional (where relevant), with a clear hierarchical view of your folders and subfolders in the tree on the left.
Quick previews of all your templates, directly from the lobby
For each template in your open folder, you’ll see a thumbnail preview of the template, the template name, the subject line, the folder name, a note on whether the template is currently in use in a campaign or not, and the date the template was last modified.
Simple controls to duplicate, edit, move, copy, and delete templates
For the day-to-day management of your templates, simply click on the three dots on the right of each template preview, to get all your options to Duplicate, Edit, Move, Copy To, and Delete your templates.
If you click on the three dots on your folders on the left, you’ll also see options to create a new subfolder, rename, move, or delete that folder.
You can also manage your templates in bulk.
Simply use the checkboxes on each template card to select as many templates as you need, and perform actions like duplicate or move in just one action. Plus, you can select multiple templates and drag-and-drop them into a new folder.
