Shortcodes are small text placeholders (like #prizeName#) that you can use to automatically insert dynamic, personalized information into your campaign screens and emails. This allows you to show each participant their unique score, prize information, registration details, and more.
Available Shortcodes
Here are the different types of shortcodes available to use:
Prize Shortcodes
These are used to display details about a prize a participant has won. They are most effective on a 'Result' or 'End' screen, or in a "You Won!" email.
-
#prizeName#- Displays the name of the prize (e.g., "10% Discount Coupon"). -
#prizeDescription#- Displays the prize's description text. -
#prizeImage#- Displays the prize's image. -
#prizeCode#- Displays the unique or generic code assigned to the prize.
Game Result Shortcodes
These are used to show the outcome of a participant's gameplay.
-
#score#- Displays the user's final score. -
#time#- Displays the user's final completion time.
Participant Shortcodes
These are used to personalize communication using information from the registration form.
-
#full_name#- Displays the name the user entered in the 'Full Name' field. - (You can also use shortcodes for custom registration fields, such as
#phone#or#city#, by matching the field name).
How to Use Shortcodes
On a Campaign Screen
- In the campaign editor, add or edit a Text element on any screen (the 'Result' or 'End' screen is a common choice).
- Simply type the shortcode directly into the text box where you want the dynamic information to appear.
In the editor, you will see the shortcode placeholder:
In the live campaign, participants will see the real, personalized data:
In an Automated Email
- Navigate to the Emails tab within your campaign.
- When creating or editing an email template, type the shortcode directly into the email body or subject line.
This is extremely powerful for sending winners their unique prize codes. For a complete guide, see How to Set Up Automated Emails.
Important Note About Testing
Shortcodes will only be replaced with real data in a Live campaign. When you are in 'Draft' mode or using the main 'Preview' button, you will only see the placeholder text (e.g., #score#). To properly test your shortcodes, you must publish the campaign and participate as a real user. You can reset the campaign analytics afterwards to clear your test data.
