If your campaign has been automatically paused, it's usually for a predefined reason designed to protect your prize inventory, manage your usage limits, or adhere to a set schedule. A team member can also manually pause a campaign.
This guide outlines the common reasons why a campaign might be in a 'Paused' state and how to resolve the issue.
Common Reasons for a Paused Campaign
Reason 1: All Prizes Have Run Out
Explanation: If your campaign is configured in a way that every participant could potentially win a prize, the system will automatically pause the campaign when the quantity of all available prizes reaches zero. This is a protective measure to prevent new participants from playing a game where no rewards are left to be won.
Solution: To reactivate the campaign, you must first add new prizes or increase the quantity of existing ones. Once prizes are available again, you can manually unpause the campaign.
Reason 2: The Campaign's End Date Was Reached
Explanation: Every campaign has a scheduled end date set on the 'Publish' page. Once this date and time passes, the campaign will automatically pause and become inaccessible to new participants.
Solution: To reactivate the campaign, navigate to the Publish settings and extend the end date to a time in the future.
Reason 3: The Unique Visitor Limit Was Exceeded
Explanation: Subscription plans include a monthly limit on unique visitors. To prevent unexpected overages, the system may automatically pause a campaign if it significantly exceeds its traffic limit (e.g., goes over 110% of the allowance).
Solution: Please contact your Customer Success Manager to discuss upgrading your plan. Once your limits are increased, the campaign can be reactivated.
Reason 4: A Team Member Manually Paused It
Explanation: A user with administrative access may have manually paused the campaign from the settings page.
Solution: Check with your team members to see if this was intentional. The campaign can be reactivated at any time.
How to Reactivate a Paused Campaign
Once you have resolved the underlying issue (e.g., added more prizes or extended the date), you can manually unpause the campaign by following these steps:
- Navigate to the campaign you wish to reactivate.
- Go to the Publishing tab.
- Click the "Continue Campaign" button.
