Optimove Email, powered by Twilio SendGrid, now supports the use of European Union (EU)-based IP addresses for email delivery. This feature allows specific clients to route their email traffic through servers in Europe, addressing strict data-residency and compliance requirements.
Why use EU-Based IP Addresses?
For organizations operating within the EU or serving European customers, data residency is often a critical priority.
With the introduction of EU-based IPs, Email provides a dedicated routing path through European servers. This allows you to align with seamlessly:
- GDPR Compliance: Meet internal policies that require EU data residency for processing.
- Legal & IT Restrictions: Overcome internal obstacles regarding the transfer of data outside of the European Union.
- Regulated Standards: Gain broader access to the Mail channel if you belong to a highly regulated industry with strict privacy standards.
How it Works
Once this feature is enabled for your account, your Email configuration is updated to route outgoing messages through EU IP addresses.
Do I need to change my templates?
No. This is a backend routing change only. It does not affect:
- Your existing email campaigns or journeys.
- Your HTML templates or creative assets.
- Your general Email configurations.
Everything regarding how you build and launch campaigns remains the same; only the network path used to deliver the message changes to ensure it stays within the EU infrastructure.
How to Enable EU-Based IPs
This feature is available upon request for eligible organizations.
To set this up, please take the following step:
- Contact your Optimove Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Account Manager (AM).
- Request the EU-Based IP configuration for your Email account.
Your account team will confirm your eligibility and manage the backend setup process to switch your sending traffic to the new region.
