Please note:
To unlock this capability, you will need to have added Location Targeting to your Optimove package. If you can’t see this feature in your Optimove instance, contact your CSM to find out more.
What is Location Targeting?
Location Targeting is a way for marketers to target their customers based on their physical location. It is very effective for mobile marketers, with many use cases for real-time marketing campaigns.
Options for Location Targeting
At Optimove, you can use Location Targeting to improve your Target Group segmentation and to trigger real-time messages to increase footfall in your physical locations.
Geofences
A Geofence is an invisible, virtual ‘fence’ that triggers a response each time a geolocation-compatible device enters or exits a geofence.
Beacons
Beacons are another form of location targeting, which enables you to target consumers based on their physical location.
Important Note Regarding Location Targeting
It's important to note that the Optimove SDK does not perform any location tracking. Each app is responsible for obtaining location permission and performing location tracking. We are dependent on the data that your app sends us to track and trigger location-based messages.
It's up to you and your team to determine the granularity and frequency of the location data you collect, and configure this within your app.
