Working with Templates
Add a new template by clicking + Create New, or by clicking on New Template.
Web Inbox Template Content
You can work with the template editor once you create a new template. You can create a new message (be sure to enter a template name) and add personalized content in the template editor.
Each message you create should include the following:
- Title (required).
- Body (optional). Message content is limited to 500 characters.
- Media (optional). You can upload images to the message. Image size is limited to 10MB per image. We can support images including PNG, JPEG, or GIF.
- Click Action (optional). You can add a URL as a CTA for the Web Inbox message.
-
Expiration Date (Required): An expiration date is mandatory for all messages. You can set the message to expire after a specific number of days (maximum 90 days) or on a fixed date and time in the customer's timezone.
Note: For triggered campaigns, expiration works as follows:
- If you set an expiration by a specific date, and that date has already passed at the time of triggering, the customer will not receive the message.
- If you set an expiration by number of days, the countdown begins from the time the message is triggered—For example, if a Web Inbox message is set to expire in 7 days and it is triggered today, it will expire 7 days from today.
As you add content to the message, you can preview how this will look on a user's desktop or mobile phone by toggling between the Desktop and Mobile tabs below the message preview.
Personalization
You can add user attributes to personalize the message in your template Title, Body, and Open URL. You can learn more about adding Personalization Tags to your templates here and find out about adding Conditional Language here.
Images
Toggle on Add Image and click the Add Image button. You can select an image from your existing library, upload a new one (), search for a stock image, or insert an image from a URL.
You can also select your Message Style: Minimal (left) or Expanded (right).
Adding Custom Payload to the Message
To add an arbitrary meta-data object to the Inbox Message, for example, to design your own card, style the message, and customize it, you can toggle the "Custom Payload" switch and enter Key and Value. You may add as many sets of Keys as you need. For each Value, you can use Personalization Tags and Conditional Language to ensure the correct information reaches each customer.
