Preparing to Use OptiText Personalization Tags
After your Customer Success Manager sets up your tags, you can use them in any mobile message. Follow these steps to set up your Customer Attributes as tags:

Go to Attributes under the Data Studio section in the left navigation.

Click the three dots on the Attribute you want to use as a Personalization Tag. Please Note: Only published attributes can be set as personalization tags.

Check the use as personalization tag checkbox and click the Update button to save your work.
Personalizing Your Journey Template

Using the left-hand panel, navigate to Plan > Templates > OptiText WhatsApp to view an existing Journey Template or create a new one.

Select the Journey Template you want to edit. This will open the editor overlay. In the Content section, click the button on the right-hand side to insert Personalization Tags.

From the dropdown menu, choose the Personalization Tag you’d like to add. You can also add Content or General tags (for example, the Current Date).

Optionally, add a default value and select a Content Function (e.g., upper, lower, or title case) for your Personalization Tag. Click Confirm to add the tag to your message.

Once added, the Personalization Tag will be highlighted in the Template Editor and in the Preview.
Please note: You will not be able to view the data behind the Personalization Tag in the Preview. To view customer attribute data, please use the Customer Explorer.
