The Data Studio allows you to independently manage, manipulate, and create additional data points all in one place with the ability to:
- View, edit, and manage the visibility of all your attributes
- Improve the granularity of Target Groups by creating custom attributes
- Increase campaign relevancy by creating real-time attributes
- Import a list of customers and target them immediately with personalized OptiMail campaigns
- Ingest new data into Optimove to create new attributes for enhanced segmentation and personalization
Accessing the Data Studio
Each page of the Data Studio can be found in the navigation bar.
To manage permissions to the Data Studio for different Optimove users, admins can go to Role Permissions in the Settings, and provide access to the following pages:
- Attributes
- Real-Time Attributes
- Imported Customers
- Data Ingestion
Creating New Attributes
Optimove’s Data Studio allows you to add Customer Attributes to your site in different ways, providing you with maximum flexibility and another level of personalization for your campaigns. You can also add Customer Attributes via API.
In the Data Studio, you can:
- Create real-time attributes.
- Create calculated attributes based on Activity History data.
- Create calculated attributes based on Purchase History data.
- Create calculated attributes, based on existing attributes.
- Create new attributes from new data sources via Data Ingestion.

- At this stage, up to 10 real-time attributes can be added.
- For calculated attributes, up to 150 attributes can be added.
- You cannot create a calculated attribute based on another calculated attribute created on the same day, as this might lead to a failure in the batch data update. Please wait until the batch data update has been completed on the following day to use new calculated attributes in another calculated attributed.
- After creating a calculated attribute, it will take up to 24 hours to be updated according to the batch data update. This may result in differences in Target Group sizes across Optimove e.g. Customer Explorer or Campaign Builder
Calculated attributes are updated during the daily batch data process and do not include customers added to the system on the same day until the following day (day 2). As a result, calculated attributes should not be used to target newly registered customers for same-day campaigns, such as day 1 conversion campaigns.
Publishing Attributes
Once you've created new attributes, they need to be published by clicking 'Publish Attributes' in the top right-hand corner for them to appear in Customer Explorer.
If you have created multiple new attributes, you can select which ones to publish.
Managing Your Attributes
- Name
- Description
- Source (e.g. Database, API, Calculated, Data Ingestion)
- If it is a real-time attribute
- If it is being used as Personalization Tag
- Status (published or unpublished
Note:
If you have a deleted a data ingestion flow from the Data Ingestion page, any relevant attribute will be labelled as a Database attribute once the flow is deleted.
