Maintaining the integrity of your campaign is crucial for ensuring a fair experience for all participants. This guide outlines the recommended process for investigating suspicious activity and the steps for manually removing a fraudulent entry.
Recommended First Step: Contact Us
If you suspect a player has cheated, we strongly recommend contacting your Customer Success Manager before taking any action. Our team has access to additional analytics tools that can help verify suspicious activity and provide guidance on the best course of action.
How to Manually Remove a Player's Data
If you have confirmed that an entry must be removed, there is a two-step process to ensure all their data is deleted from the campaign.
- Delete the Gameplay Entry
Navigate to Campaign Analytics and find the Gameplays table. Use the search or filter options to locate the specific entry you wish to remove. Click the delete icon on that row. This will permanently remove the gameplay data and update the leaderboard. - Revoke Any Associated Prizes
Important: Deleting a gameplay does not automatically revoke a prize that has already been awarded. You must do this manually.
Navigate to the campaign editor, then go to the Prizes tab and select the Winners sub-tab. Find the prize associated with the removed player and click delete.
Best Practices for Fraud Prevention
While our platform has numerous built-in anti-fraud measures, here are some best practices you can implement at the campaign level to minimize risk:
- Secure High-Value Prizes: Avoid using "instant win" mechanics for prizes with significant monetary value. Instead, consider using a manual prize draw or a "pending" state that allows you time to review winners before fulfillment.
- Implement Clear Terms and Conditions: Your campaign's terms should clearly define what constitutes cheating and state that you reserve the right to disqualify any entries that violate these rules.
