How to Run a Raffle and Draw Winners

The 'Raffle' prize type allows you to draw winners manually from a specific group of participants at any time. This is perfect for grand prizes, weekly drawings, or any situation where the winner isn't determined immediately after gameplay.

The process involves applying filters to narrow down the pool of eligible participants and then randomly drawing a winner from that group.

How to Start a Raffle

To begin the process of drawing a winner for a specific prize:

  1. First, ensure you have created a prize and set its Prize Type to Raffle.
  2. Navigate to the Prizes tab in your campaign editor.
  3. Find the raffle prize you want to draw winners for and click the "Raffle out" button next to it.

This will open the Raffle Settings window, where you can apply filters.

Raffle Filter Settings

You can combine the following filters to create a very specific group of players to draw from. The process is broken into two main questions: who to include in the draw, and then who to select from that group.

Filter 1: Who to Include in the Draw (Time & Participation)

This first set of filters defines the initial pool of participants based on when they played.

  • Draw from ALL participants: This is the default option and includes every person who has completed the game in the draw, regardless of when they played.
  • Draw from a Specific Date Range: This allows you to limit the draw to only people who played within a certain timeframe. This is ideal for weekly or daily prize drawings.

Filter 2: Who to Select From (Performance & Results)

This second set of filters narrows the pool further based on player performance or achievements.

  • Minimum Score: Set a score threshold (e.g., "at least 100 points") that players must have achieved to be eligible.
  • Leaderboard Position Range: Specify a range on the leaderboard to draw from (e.g., draw a prize from players ranked 2nd through 10th).
  • Top X Players: Limit the draw to only the top performers (e.g., "amongst Top 10 players").
  • Number of Referrals: If you are using our referral feature, you can limit the draw to users who have referred a certain number of new players.

Game-Specific Raffle Options

Some game types have unique raffle filters available:

  • For Advent Calendars: You can filter the draw to include only players who participated on specific days or on every one of a selection of days.
  • For Personality Tests & Multi-Path Quizzes: You can filter the draw to include only players who achieved a specific result or outcome (e.g., draw a prize only from players who got the "Innovator" personality type).

Putting It All Together: An Example

Goal: "In our 4-week campaign, we want to randomly give out one 100€ voucher each week to a player who was in the top 10 for that specific week."

To draw the winner for Week 1 (e.g., Jan 1 - Jan 7):

  1. Click "Raffle out" for the "100€ Voucher" prize.
  2. Set the Number of prizes to draw to "1".
  3. Under the Time filter, select the date range [Jan 1, 2023] - [Jan 7, 2023].
  4. Under the Performance filter, select the option to choose from the "Top 10 players".
  5. Click "Confirm" to draw one winner who meets both criteria.

You would repeat this process each week with the new date range to draw the next winner.

Viewing and Managing Winners

After a raffle is complete, you can see the results by clicking on the "Winners" tab within the Prizes section. Here you will find a list of all winners, and you can filter, sort, and export this data as needed.
