The OptiMail settings page is your control center for managing the core components of your email channel. From here, you can activate the customer-facing Preference Center, manage global subscription lists, upload and maintain lists of unique promotion codes, and configure technical unsubscribe settings.
Prerequisites
- You must have an Admin role to access the OptiMail settings.
Navigating to OptiMail Settings
- Click the Settings icon in the main navigation menu.
- Under the Channels category, select OptiMail.
A Guide to the OptiMail Screen
The page is organized into four main tabs: OptiMail Preference Center, Subscription, Unique Promotions, and One-Click Unsubscribe.
OptiMail Preference Center
This tab allows you to activate the Preference Center for your different brands or campaign types. A preference center allows your customers to choose which types of emails they want to receive, rather than only having a global "unsubscribe from all" option.
- To Activate: Simply select the checkbox next to each brand or campaign type (e.g., Scheduled Campaigns, Triggered Campaigns) for which you want the Preference Center to be active.
- Important: As noted on the screen, you must define your Preference Groups before enabling this feature.
Click Save to apply your changes.
Subscription Management
This tab provides tools for managing your global unsubscribe list in bulk.
How to Bulk Add or Remove Unsubscribes
This is useful for importing unsubscribes collected from other systems.
- Prepare a CSV File: Create a simple
.csvfile containing a single column of email addresses. Do not include a header row. - Select Brand: Choose the appropriate brand from the dropdown menu.
- Choose Action: Select either Add customers to the unsubscribed list or Remove customers from the unsubscribed list.
- Upload File: Click Browse and select the CSV file you prepared.
- Click Update List to process the file.
How to Export the Unsubscribed List
- On the Subscription tab, enter the email address where you would like the export to be sent in the Email report to field.
- Click the Export unsubscribed list link.
- A pop-up window will appear.
- Choose the type of list you want to export:
- All time list: Includes every email address that has ever unsubscribed.
- List for selected dates: Allows you to select a specific date range using the calendar.
- Click Export. The system will process the list and email it to the specified address as soon as it is ready.
Note: Each export is limited to a maximum of 500,000 email addresses.
Unique Promotions
This feature allows you to upload and manage lists of unique, single-use promotion codes that can be inserted into your campaigns. This is a powerful way to prevent promo code abuse.
How to Create a New Promotion
- From the main Unique Promotions tab, click + New Promotion.
- Fill in the promotion details:
- Promotion Name: A user-friendly name to identify the list in the campaign builder (e.g., "Summer 2025 Sale").
- Default Promo Code (Optional): This is a fallback code that will be distributed to customers if your list of unique codes runs out.
- Import Unique Codes: Click Choose file and select a CSV file containing a single column of your unique codes (no header, up to 50MB).
- Click Create Promotion. The system will process the file and the promotion will become available for use in your campaigns.
One-Click Unsubscribe
This tab contains advanced technical settings for the one-click unsubscribe header, which is a requirement for email deliverability and compliance with regulations like CAN-SPAM.
Note: These foundational settings are established by your technical team, in collaboration with Optimove, during the initial onboarding process. As such, they do not require changes for day-to-day operations. If you believe changes are needed, please contact your Customer Success Manager or the Optimove support team for guidance.
