Dynamic Yield

The Dynamic Yield and Optimove integration enables you to create a unified experience on your website and orchestrate personalization campaigns by combining data from Dynamic Yield and Optimove.
 
At the moment, there are two ways to leverage Dynamic Yield and Optimove:
  1. Target audiences within Dynamic Yield, based on Optimove’s rich customer profile attributes.
  2. Include Dynamic Yield's product recommendations widgets in Optimail emails.

In this guide, we will go over setting up the integration for each of the use cases mentioned above.

 

Target Audiences Within Dynamic Yield, Based on Optimove’s Attributes

To implement this use case, Optimove needs to send a data file to Dynamic Yield on a daily basis. The file includes a list of customers (with an identifier) and their attributes (e.g., Number of Purchases/Deposits).

 

Set Up a Recurring Batch Data Transfer From Optimove to Dynamic Yield

First, make sure you’ve completed the attribute mapping process in your Dynamic Yield instance. Once done, contact your Customer Success Manager (in Optimove) to coordinate the process.

The process is set up by your Customer Success Manager and our Data Integration team but requires data preparation on your side, as follows:
  1. Send your Customer Success Manager a list of attributes you would like to forward from Optimove to Dynamic Yield.
    • The maximum number of attributes is 50, but we recommend starting with just a few attributes. 
    • Choose the attributes that are not being collected by Dynamic Yield by default, such as Optimove’s Lifecycle Stages, Segmentation Layers, Future Value, Risk of Churn, and any other calculated transactional attribute (total/average order amount, etc.). This will help you gain far greater flexibility when personalizing campaigns. 
  2. Mention the unique identifier you are using (email / CID / hashed email)
  3. Get the name and password for your Dynamic Yield S3 bucket from your Dynamic Yield Account Manager and send it to your Optimove CSM. The file should include the S3 Bucket and Credentials.

Upon completion of those steps, we will map your attributes, finalize the integration on our end, and inform you when everything is ready. Check your Dynamic Yield account to make sure attributes are being sent successfully.
 

Email Product Recommendations

Dynamic Yield offers recommendation widgets that can be implemented in the Optimail email editor by embedding a piece of code provided by Dynamic Yield. This will allow you to leverage Dynamic Yield's powerful recommendation algorithms within Optimove, creating a highly personalized email-to-website experience for your customers.

We recommend creating a web campaign in Dynamic Yield for the same audience used in the Optimail campaign, using the same product recommendations. This way, when the customers receive the email and visit your website, they see the same recommended products.
  1. Create an email recommendation campaign in Dynamic Yield.
  2. Copy the embed code of the widget from Dynamic Yield.
  3. Paste the embed code in your Optimail email campaign.
    • To do so:
      1. Build your Optimail template
      2. Insert an HTML block (if built using the Visual Editor)
      3. Paste Dynamic Yield’s code in the HTML block, and click Save
That’s it! Your email will now include a personalized recommendations widget, rendered in real-time for each recipient as soon as the email is opened. Clicking on any of the recommended items will lead to the exact same product presented to the user on the website.
