Publishing is the final step in taking your campaign from a private draft to a live experience that can record participant data. This guide explains the settings on the Publish page and how to get your campaign running.
Draft vs. Live Status
The main difference between a 'Draft' and a 'Live' campaign is data collection. Understanding this is key to testing and launching your campaign successfully.
| Draft Status | Live Status |
|---|---|
| ❌ No data is saved. Player entries, scores, and prize claims are not recorded. | ✅ All data is saved. Every interaction is recorded in your campaign analytics. |
| ❌ No prize registration or form validation occurs. It's purely for previewing the visual flow. | ✅ Prizes are awarded and form validations are active. The campaign functions completely. |
Configuring Your Publish Settings
Before you publish, review and configure the following settings on the 'Publishing > Publishing settings' page:
- 1. Campaign URL: By default, your campaign is assigned a random URL. We highly recommend clicking the pencil icon to edit this to something readable and brand-friendly (e.g., yourbrand.com/summer-giveaway).
- 2. Campaign Active Dates: Set the Start Date and End Date for your campaign. The campaign will automatically become inactive and pause once the end date is reached.
- 3. Participation Limit per player: Set the total number of times a single person (identified by their email address or other unique identifier) can participate in the campaign.
Going Live: Your Publishing Options
You have two options for making your campaign live:
- Publish Immediately: Click the Publish Campaign button to make your campaign live right away.
- Schedule for Later: Set a future 'Start Date' and enable the "Publish automatically on the start date" toggle. The system will automatically publish the campaign for you on that date.
Learn More About Campaign Statuses
Your campaign will have different statuses throughout its lifecycle (e.g., Draft, Scheduled, Live, Ended). For a full explanation of each, see our guide on Understanding Campaign Statuses.
