Optimove provides each customer with a best-in-class customer model, tailor-made to the customer’s unique data set and KPIs.
There are two customer segmentation models available – the lean model and the full model. The lean customer model covers lifecycle stage segmentation. The full customer model adds segmentation layers and micro-segments to the lifecycle stage segmentation providing greater granularity and higher levels of accuracy for predictive analytics.
If you started your Optimove journey with a lean customer model, you can easily migrate to a full customer model and enjoy the added benefits.
How does the migration process work?
Migrating your Optimove site from a lean model to the full model involves changes to the Customer Model and associated areas such as adding segmentation layers, more lifecycle stages, and regenerating the predictive metrics with advanced calculations.
When migrating between models, there is no impact on the campaign execution-related items that you have already set up (e.g. – target groups, templates). Additionally, a full backup of your lean site is created before the migration takes place.
During the process, the old model structure will be replaced by the new model structure, also retroactively. Therefore, some of your historical data snapshots may not be available anymore (the number of historical snapshots in use will be determined by the Optimove team).
The migration day, step-by-step:
- The Batch Data Update takes place as normal, including the campaign execution phase.
- The site is taken offline.
- The additional lifecycle stages and segmentation layers are added, and predictive metrics are generated.
- The site is brought back online.
- QA of the sight is performed by Optimove to ensure the site was migrated successfully.
While the migration itself is conducted in a single day, our support team will continue to monitor the process for several days.
Also, you should know that:
- On the day of migration, your site will not be accessible.
- Campaigns set for the day of migration will run, regardless of the time of day they are scheduled for, even if the site is offline at that time.
- You will be able to see the new segmentation model as soon as your site has been updated.
- A few days later, your CSM will schedule a full site presentation and walk you through the changes and additions.
