When creating a triggered campaign, the first step is defining the trigger that will activate it. In Campaign Builder, you can do this directly as part of the campaign setup flow. You can either select an existing trigger or create a new one without leaving the page.
This keeps trigger setup and campaign configuration in one place, making the process easier to follow and manage. Once the trigger logic is defined, you can continue with the rest of the campaign setup while keeping full visibility into the conditions, sequence, and timeframe that will activate the campaign.
This is part of a broader effort to make campaign creation more seamless and efficient. Instead of moving between different areas of the platform to complete setup, marketers can now perform more key tasks directly in Campaign Builder.
You can also create and manage triggers from the Realtime Triggers page. To learn more, see the Managing Triggers Article.
How it works
- Select Create new trigger.
Start by defining the trigger that will activate your campaign.
- Select the relevant event and define any conditions based on its parameters
- For more advanced setups, such as multiple events or incomplete sequences, the trigger editor opens in a pop-up window with full configuration options
- Build the exact logic you need, including event order and timeframe
Or add another event by selecting the “add event” button:
2. Review the trigger logic
As you build the trigger, Campaign Builder presents a clear summary of its logic, so you always understand how it works.
The summary includes:
- The events included in the trigger
- Any conditions applied to event parameters
- The sequence of events and their required order
- The timeframe in which the events must occur
This makes it easy to validate your setup before moving forward.
3. Edit triggers directly from Campaign Builder
If you select an existing trigger, you can edit it without leaving Campaign Builder.
- Click the "Edit trigger" option to update the trigger logic
- Changes are applied to the trigger itself, not just the campaign
Keep in mind that editing an existing trigger will impact all campaigns that use it.
