Please note:
To unlock this capability, you will need to have added DynamicMail to your Optimove package. If you can’t see this feature in your Optimove instance, contact your CSM to find out more.
Using device detection and device targeting, email marketers can create dynamic email elements that change based on the device. For example, a brand can drastically increase the number of mobile app downloads by creating a hero image that only appears when the email is opened on a mobile device.
The component will display different content and/or direct recipients to different landing pages for iOS, Android, and other (i.e. desktop), making the email more targeted and engaging for each recipient.

Custom Development
The following use cases can be supported with the help of Custom Development by our team:
Geo-targeted device targeting
Send different images to recipients based upon their location at the time they open the email.
Automatic tap-to-call
Optimove's image component can be programmed to instruct recipients to dial a phone number if the email is viewed on a mobile device. On a desktop device, a link can be programmed to point to the website.
Personalized image device targeting
The more personalized the email, the more relevant it is to the recipient. Optimove can help you create a personalized image for each recipient based on their device that encourages them to take action.
Recommendations
- All images used must have the same dimensions.
- The default image is displayed for desktop users and devices undetected by the system due to use of proxy servers (e.g. Gmail app and webmail platform).
Fallback Behavior
When the recipient’s device cannot be determined, the default image will be displayed.

Troubleshooting
Recipient is previewing the component on Gmail for desktop, and seeing the default image
Since Gmail using proxy servers, we are not able to determine the device that the recipient is viewing the email from. For that reason, this behavior is expected and Optimove can't fix this.
