How to Add DynamicMail Components to OptiMail Templates
There are three key steps involved with adding dynamic content recommendations to your OptiMail templates.
- Building your OptiMail Template
- Adding the DynamicMail Content Block
- Creating Your Component
Step 1: Build OptiMail Template
First of all, build your OptiMail template as usual, using the Visual Editor. Take advantage of any of the features available in the Visual Editor, from Content Tags to our AI Copy Assistant.
To learn more about building OptiMail templates, read more about the Visual Editor here.
Step 2: Insert the DynamicMail Content Block
In the Visual Editor, navigate to the Desing tab, and scroll down until you see the DynamicMail content block. Drag-and-drop the component into the editor, and click on Start DynamicMail to begin.
Please note:
At this point, you may need to sign into DynamicMail with your login credentials, if you have not done so already.
Step 3: Add or Create DynamicMail Component
Now, simply choose from your existing DynamicMail components, or create a new one via the DynamicMail modal within the editor.
Once added, you can preview how the template will look using the Dynamicmail component (learn more about previewing OptiMail templates here), or send a test to view the email in your own inbox.
Use Cases
Here are some examples of how you can make your OptiMail templates more engaging with DynamicMail Components. Find more potential DynamicMail components for your email templates here.
Countdown Timers
The Countdown Timer component creates a sense of urgency around a deadline, an event, or a promotion, to increase the effectiveness of your message and your call-to-action. Customers will see a real-time countdown towards a predetermined time, independent of local time zones. For example, if the timer is set to count down to 11:59 PM EST, all recipients will see an accurate countdown regardless of their location.
Maps
The Map component automatically generates a map for a specific pre-defined location, customized per recipient, powered by Google or Bing maps. The map can include a navigation link to give subscribers directions to the location. A pin showing a specific address can easily be customized; a great way to make it more relevant.
Progress Bars
The progress bar component gives you the ability to include a personalized bar or donut chart within your email campaigns. Using this component, you can add a level of gamification to your emails by showing subscribers how close/far they are from achieving a milestone.
