The Advent Calendar is a highly engaging format perfect for holiday marketing, daily countdowns, or multi-day events. It allows you to reveal new content, games, or prizes to your audience over a set period, encouraging them to return day after day.
Part 1: General Calendar Settings
These settings, found in the 'Setup' tab of the game editor, control the overall behavior of your Advent Calendar.
- Number of Doors: Choose how many days or "doors" your calendar has. While 24 is traditional, you can set any number to match your event.
- Next Door Open After: Set how often a new door becomes available (e.g., every 1 day).
- Open First Door at: The date when the first door becomes openable.
- Allow Opening Past Doors: Enable this to let users who missed a day go back and open previous doors.
- Show Only Active Day on Mobile: A mobile-only feature that hides all other doors to focus the user on the current day's content.
Part 2: Customizing the Calendar's Visuals
From the 'Calendar Visuals' tab, you can customize the look and feel of your entire calendar grid.
- Door Size & Spacing: Choose a size for the doors (Small, Medium, or Big) and adjust the margins between them.
- Door Appearance: Set the default colors or upload custom images for both the 'closed' and 'opened' states of the doors.
- Door Text (Numbers): Customize the font, color, and size of the numbers on the doors, or hide them entirely.
- Door Animations: Set a default animation for when a door is opened.
Part 3: Configuring Individual Doors
This is where you define what happens when a user clicks on a specific door. Navigate to the 'Door Settings' section under the Setup tab to begin.
For each door (or group of doors), you can set one of three actions:
- Open a Campaign: Link a door to an entirely different campaign (like a Trivia game) to create a "game within a game."
- Open a URL: Direct the user to an external webpage when they open the door.
- Open a Prize/Content Modal: This is the most common option. It opens a pop-up window where you can place any other elements (like text, images, videos, or share buttons) to create a unique content experience for that day. This is also how you would award a prize for a specific door.
Part 4: Setting Up the Registration Form
The Advent Calendar has a unique registration behavior. The form appears in a pop-up the very first time a user tries to open any door. They only need to register once for the entire calendar.
To configure this registration pop-up, navigate to the Landing Page → Text and Images → Registration Modal tab. Here, you can add a Registration Form element and any other content you want to appear.
