The Wheel of Fortune is a classic game of chance that is perfect for engaging users with a simple, exciting, and visually appealing experience. In this article, we will guide you through the steps of creating and customizing your own Wheel of Fortune campaign.
Configuring Your Wheel of Fortune
You can customize every aspect of the wheel from the 'Game' screen editor to match your brand and campaign goals.
Wheel Sectors
This is where you'll design the individual slices of the wheel. First, set the global options for all sectors:
- Number of Sectors: Choose how many segments your wheel has (from 1 to 25).
- Font & Borders: Select the text style for all sectors and customize the border style between them.
Next, you can customize each individual sector:
- Content: Choose whether to display text or an image within the sector.
- Prize Association: Link each sector to a specific prize from your prize list. This determines what the user wins if the arrow lands on this sector. A sector can also be linked to "No prize".
Wheel Visuals
Customize the static parts of the wheel mechanism itself.
- Wheel Orientation: Decide where the wheel starts, Top or Right.
- Wheel Design: Add a background image that sits behind the entire wheel, change the arrow icon or color, and add an image to the center of the wheel, which is a great place for your company logo.
- Button Design: By default, users can click anywhere on the wheel to spin it. For a more traditional experience, you can enable "Spin wheel on button click" to create a dedicated spin button. You can customize the button's label text, font, size, and colors, as well as style its background, border, and size.
Sounds
You can add background music and sound effects to make your Wheel of Fortune more immersive. To begin, ensure the main 'Enable audio' toggle at the top of the sound settings is switched on.
Background Music
Upload an audio file (e.g., MP3) to play during the game. Note that this music will play only while the user is on the Game Screen, overriding any general background music you may have set for the rest of the campaign.
Sound Effects
Add custom sound effects for specific game actions. For the Wheel of Fortune, you can set a sound for the 'On spin tick', which is the clicking noise the wheel makes as it rotates past each sector.
Sound Control Button
When audio is enabled, a sound control button (mute/unmute) is automatically shown to the user. You can customize its appearance and behavior:
- Button Icons: Upload your own images for the 'Sound ON' and 'Sound OFF' states of the button.
- Position: Use the sliders to adjust the button's vertical and horizontal position on the screen.
- Default State: Choose whether the sound should be on or off by default when a user first loads the campaign.
Next Steps: Enhance Your Campaign
A great game is just one part of a successful campaign. Consider these next steps to increase engagement and create a fully branded experience:
- Design a beautiful landing page: Learn how to edit your campaign's start and end screens.
- Engage players after they win: Discover how to send automated follow-up emails with prize details.
