The Word Guess game is a popular and challenging puzzle format based on the viral hit Wordle. It's an excellent way to engage your audience by having them guess a brand-specific term, a new product name, or even a secret discount code.
This game shares some settings with our standard Trivia game. For detailed instructions on settings like randomizing the order of your words (questions), limiting how many words are shown, or adding custom backgrounds/audio, please refer to our comprehensive How to create a Trivia Game guide.
Configuring Your Word Guess Game
The main setup for this game involves defining the words to be guessed and customizing the look of the game board. These settings are found in the 'Game' screen editor.
Step 1: Add Your Words (Questions)
The core of this game is the word you want users to guess. In the 'Questions' tab, click "New question" to add a new word puzzle. You can add multiple words to your campaign, and the system can present them randomly to the user.
For each word, you will configure:
- Title: The question or hint for the user (e.g., "What is our company's new slogan?").
- Word: The secret word the user needs to guess.
- Number of Guesses: Set how many attempts the user gets (from 1 to 8).
- Extra Letters: Add extra, unused letters to the on-screen keyboard to make the puzzle more challenging.
Step 2: Customize the Game Board Visuals
Navigate to the 'Game Visuals' tab to style the unique appearance of the Word Guess game.
- Grid Design: Customize the style of the letter boxes in the main grid where guesses are entered.
- Keyboard Design: Customize the style of the letter boxes on the on-screen keyboard.
-
Gameplay Feedback Colors: This is a key part of the game. You can define the specific colors for:
- Correct: The letter is in the word and in the correct position (typically green).
- Misplaced: The letter is in the word but in the wrong position (typically yellow).
- Non-existent: The letter is not in the word at all (typically grey).
