Optimove AI Updates
Ask Optimove Anything: OptiGenie for All Customers
OptiGenie, the conversational agent built into Optimove, is now available to all customers in beta. Every account starts with a free one-time balance, and admins can add more whenever they need it.
- Free starting balance: a one-time $100 balance per account, shared across all its users
- Self-serve top-ups: admins can buy more usage from Settings > AI > Billing: $100, $500 (save 15%), $1,000 (save 25%), or a custom amount from $50, through a secure checkout powered by Stripe
- No expiry: one-time top-ups do not expire, and the whole account shares the same budget
Note: For recurring top-ups or invoicing, contact your CSM.
Control What AI Can Do: AI Permissions
Admins can now choose what AI is allowed to do for each role (Admin, Manager, Marketer, and Analyst). The settings apply to both the Optimove MCP and OptiGenie, and AI can never do more than the user's own role allows.
- Per-role control: set permissions in Settings > AI > AI Permissions
- Edit in use: AI can now edit live campaigns and the building blocks they use (Target Groups, templates, triggers, calculated attributes, marketing actions, and promotions), following the same rules as the UI
- Off by default: nothing changes until an admin turns it on
Note: AI Permissions is in open beta and rolling out as part of the latest version. Permissions to stop, delete, and archive are coming next, followed by activate and publish.
More to Ask About: BI Studio Reports, Attribute Details, and Test Sends in OptiGenie and MCP
Three new capabilities are available in both OptiGenie and the Optimove MCP.
- All BI Studio reports: Repeat Rate, Deliverability, Migration Explorer, Predictive Models, Visits, Content Intelligence, and Product Analysis, behind the same access permissions as in the product
- Attribute details: ask how an attribute is calculated (its source tables and the attributes it is built from) and whether it is used in Target Groups, templates, or reports
- Send a test email: send a stored template to up to 10 addresses, personalized as a chosen or random customer, with a
[TEST]prefix
Note: Available to all accounts with OptiGenie or the Optimove MCP enabled. Report access follows your account's existing permissions.
How Do We Compare: Benchmark Report in MCP
Gaming marketers can now ask how they compare to other operators in their markets, straight from chat. The Optimove MCP returns your KPIs against anonymized benchmarks from hundreds of global gaming brands, by market, brand, and year, matching the Benchmark Report in the platform.
Note: Available to gaming customers with the Benchmark Report.
AI Agents, One Goal: AI Decisioning Studio
AI Decisioning Studio is now generally available. Instead of each AI agent optimizing its own campaign in isolation, you can group campaigns under a single Strategy with a shared KPI goal, and the agents work toward that goal together. You then measure and optimize results across the whole program, not campaign by campaign.
- Strategies with a shared goal: group campaigns under one Strategy and give it a single Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goal
- Agents working together: the AI Journey Decisioning Agent, the AI Offer Decisioning Agent, and Send Time Optimization all work as part of the same Strategy
- Program-level tracking: track KPI impact and AI coverage across the whole Strategy
- Bulk add from Mission Control: select multiple campaigns and use Add to Strategy to add them in one go
Note: AI Decisioning Studio is available to all customers on Campaign Execution 2.0. Coming soon: the AI Content Decisioning Agent, and creating Strategies directly in Campaign Builder.
One Home for Content: Content Studio
Content Studio is now live for all customers. It brings templates, creative assets, Content Blocks, Data Connections, and QA into one workspace, so you no longer have to hunt across separate builders to create, personalize, and check your content.
- One hub: templates, assets, Content Blocks, Data Connections, and QA in a single place
- Content Blocks: build a block once and reuse it everywhere; update it once and the change applies to every template that uses it
- Personalization at scale: powered by Liquid and Data Connections, so your messaging stays consistent across channels
- Built natively: Overlay Messaging is the first channel built inside Content Studio
Note: Overlay Messaging is the only channel live in Content Studio today. Email moves into Content Studio next, followed by push, SMS, and web on a rolling basis.
Set It Once: Channel Eligibility
Channel Eligibility is now generally available. You define once which customers are eligible for each channel, and Optimove applies those rules automatically to every scheduled and triggered campaign. There is no need to repeat channel logic in every Target Group or to build duplicate single-channel campaigns.
- One place for channel rules: admins set eligibility per channel in Settings > Channel Eligibility, using customer attributes or engagement activity, for native channels and third-party integrations
- Applied to every campaign: customers only receive messages on channels they are eligible for; if they are not eligible for any channel in a campaign, they are excluded from that campaign but stay available for others
- Email unsubscribes handled for you: the brand-level unsubscribe rule is applied automatically
- Eligibility numbers in Campaign Builder: see eligible customers per channel (hover over the Target Group size), per action, and in total in the Campaign Summary
- Clear exclusion reason: excluded customers appear in the Mission Control Eligibility & Exclusion list with the reason "Not eligible for channel"
Note: Channel Eligibility is available to all customers on Campaign Execution 2.0. Eligibility rules are applied before Conditional Execution.
See the Lift: Send Time Optimization Metrics
If you use Send Time Optimization (STO), you can now see how much it improved your results. Each STO campaign shows its open and click rate uplift compared to a control group, plus a breakdown of how customers engaged at each hour a message was sent.
- STO Benefit: open rate uplift (Email and Mobile Push) and click rate uplift (Email) compared to customers who were not on optimized send times; hover over the percentage to see the confidence level
- Engagement by Send Time: a chart per channel showing Delivered per hour, with Open Rate and Click Rate lines on top, in the campaign's time zone; switch each series on or off so a low click rate is not flattened by a high open rate
- Where to find it: in Mission Control, open the campaign's menu and select Channel Metrics; the metrics sit under each channel's summary card
- History included: the metrics also cover past occurrences of the campaign
Note: The control group is a random set of customers sent at the brand's best hours overall, without personalization, so a positive uplift means personalized timing beat the brand's best hours. Open rate is opens divided by delivered; click rate is clicks divided by opens. Data refreshes every six hours, and the metrics appear only for STO campaigns.
Real-Time First: Registering Customers from Events
Customers are now registered in Optimove the moment their first event reaches us, instead of waiting for the daily batch. Their details are then enriched when the customer arrives in the batch.
- Registration on first event: without out-of-the-box (OOTB) events, the first
setCID()call with a customer ID; with OOTB events, the firstootb_registrationorootb_user_details_updatecall with a customer ID - Created with what the event carries: just the customer ID, or more details when OOTB events are used; the full set of attributes is updated once the customer arrives in the batch
- Ready from registration: the customer can receive scheduled campaigns, API and event-based updates keep their profile current, and push tokens are linked earlier so scheduled push campaigns can reach them
- Real-time attributes: update from the very first event for that customer ID
The Right Access for Every Team: Role-Based Settings and the Developer Role
Settings is no longer Admin-only. Each Settings section now has its own permission, so teams get what they need without full Admin rights.
- Per-section permissions: each Settings section can now be opened to non-Admin roles
- New Developer role: give developers the integration settings they need without handing them Admin access
- Sensitive areas stay protected: Access Management, Remove Personal Data, and business settings can remain Admin-only
Revoke Access in Minutes: Self-Serve Admin User Management
Admins no longer need to open a support ticket to remove or downgrade another Admin. Access to sensitive data can now be revoked in minutes, directly in Access Management.
- Remove Admins: delete another Admin user and revoke their access immediately
- Change roles: change another Admin's role, for example downgrading them to Manager
Send from SFMC, Run in Optimove: The Rebuilt Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Integration
Closed Beta: The rebuilt Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email integration is in beta. Please contact your CSM if you would like to be added.
If you send your email from Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), you can now run those campaigns in Optimove on a fully rebuilt integration that runs on Campaign Execution 2.0 and resolves the issues reported on the previous version.
- Real-time campaigns: not only scheduled ones
- Self-serve personalization fields: pick your own personalization fields in Settings, with no support ticket
- Template sync and preview: templates sync and preview straight from Optimove
- Metrics: results come back per campaign and per customer
Two New Ad Audiences: ChatGPT Ads and Reddit Ads Audience Sync
Closed Beta: ChatGPT Ads and Reddit Ads Audience Sync are in beta. Please contact your CSM if you would like to be added.
You can now sync Optimove Target Groups to custom audiences in ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Reddit, the same way you already do with Facebook and Google.
- Two new audience channels: ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Reddit Ads, selectable in Campaign Builder
- Always in sync: Optimove adds the campaign's customers to the audience and removes them when the campaign duration ends
- Light setup: ChatGPT needs an OpenAI Ads account and one API key; Reddit needs a Reddit Ads account and a one-time login consent
Note: OpenAI does not allow gambling ads; sweepstakes and other non-real-money games may be allowed under OpenAI's advertising policy. OpenAI needs at least 25,000 matched users before an audience can be targeted, and Reddit needs about 1,000. Both integrations are part of the Social Channels package.
Step Aside, Then Come Back: Hide and Show for Overlay Messaging
Your app can now hide an overlay message that is already on screen, for example to show a regulatory message, and then bring the same message back afterwards without losing it or triggering it again.
- New SDK methods:
hide()andshow()on Web, iOS, and Android - Nothing lost while hidden: messages that arrive while hidden wait until
show()is called - Accurate impressions: impressions only count once a message is actually seen
Note: This needs development work in your app, since nothing comes back until the app calls show(). It applies to Overlay Messaging only, not legacy In-App Messaging or Web Pop-Ups.
Same Model, Clearer View: The Redesigned Customer Model
The Customer Model page has a new layout. The model and its numbers are unchanged; only the way you explore them is new.
- The full picture first: lifecycle stage distribution and average future value side by side, for any brand and snapshot date
- Drill into any stage: select a stage to see the micro-segments and value segments driving it
- Cleaner charts and tables: in line with the redesigned Segmentation Explorer and Funnel Explorer
Note: If you have opened the page before, a short in-app guide will walk you through the new layout on your next visit.
Know When It Is Ready: New and Restored System Notifications
Two system notifications help you keep track of your data and your campaign runs on Campaign Execution 2.0.
- New, Batch Data Freshness for Today Completed: get an email when today's batch data has been processed and is fresh, so your scheduled campaigns will run with it; this differs from Batch Process - Data Update Completed, which confirms the data was received and loaded but is not yet fresh
- Restored, Campaign Execution Iteration Summary: an hourly summary of all execution iterations in that hour, covering successfully executed, failed or partially failed, not run, and no customers; it replaces the older Campaign Execution Completed notification
- Set up: Settings > System Notifications > + Add System Notification; you can also unregister from either notification there
Note: Both notifications are available to customers on Campaign Execution 2.0. The Campaign Execution Daily Summary remains a separate end-of-day notification, and you can subscribe to one or both.
Find Your Variants: Content Variations Filter in Mission Control
Mission Control has an updated Content Variations filter that replaces the Content type filter.
- Yes: shows campaigns whose templates contain content variants
- No: shows all other campaigns
Note: The filter appears only for accounts with Content Decisioning enabled.
More Control, Faster Setup: Minigames Participation Limits and Cross-Brand Duplication
Optimove Minigames gives you more control over how often players play, and a faster way to set up the same game across brands.
- Flexible participation limits: set any number of participations per player
- Configurable limit reset: choose never, rolling, daily, or weekly on a specific day and time (for example, three spins per week, resetting every Monday at 00:00)
- Duplicate to another brand: copy a Minigames campaign straight into a different brand instead of rebuilding it
Easier to Find, Faster to Scan: Optimove Personalize Navigation and List Views
Optimove Personalize has a tidier navigation, a more useful home page, and a new table view for large lists.
- Simplified left menu: a new Reporting section brings all reports together, and Intelligent Layouts now sits under Recommend; pages, functionality, and access levels are unchanged
- Quick actions on the home page: the Personalize home page now has quick action buttons
- Card or Table view: switch views on Recommend Placements, Recommend Intelligent Layouts, Smart Content, and Smart Campaigns Event Generators; Table view adds sortable columns and row actions, and your choice is remembered per user
